Following a two-month closing, Chick n Sours Haggerston is now back with a newly designed space by London’s Interior Designer – KAI Interiors and a line-up of creative new dishes. We’re pretty excited because Chick ‘n’ Sours serves some of the best fried chicken in London.

The Spot:
While the food is definitely the main attraction at Chick ‘n’ Sours, space has been given a new look with a bar underneath the restaurant. The style of dining takes a different turn too; all portions are smaller so you can explore the menu and try more things at once.

The Food:
Some of the dishes from Chick ‘n’ Sours’ pop-up in Brixton have made the move to Haggerston, including their take on the Chinese dish “prawn toast”, made with chicken, chilli fish sauce caramel, kohlrabi slaw and apple with lime kosho. New must-try menu items are the Seoul Destroyer (a Korean-glazed burger made with roast chicken fat and topped with nacho cheese and kimchi), ssam style ½ fry (an American-Korean fusion dish served with a spicy dipping sauce), and PBJ French toast with a coconut-curd filling.

But the star of the show might be the hot chicken and waffle. Marrying a Nashville staple with flavours of Shin Cup ramen instant noodles, a drumstick gets a special “noodle crack” seasoning (hot sauce, chicken fat, Korean chili flakes), which is served on top of a kimchi cornbread waffle, smothered in honey butter to balance the spice. Consider this your new hangover cure on the weekend.

The Drinks

Chicken ‘n’ Sours offers their usual Chick’N’Club sour cocktail (made with gin, lemon, raspberry and chili vinegar), while also welcoming a selection of guest sours. At the moment, options include a Black Strap Sour with Bourbon, Cynar, and passionfruit, and the Pink Elephant with vodka, banana, pineapple, pomegranate, and citrus.
