1. Purpose

This policy outlines KAI Interiors commitment to respecting and promoting human rights within its operations and supply chain. It sets out the framework for screening, evaluating, and monitoring suppliers to ensure they uphold internationally recognised human rights standards.

2. Policy Statement

KAI Interiors is committed to preventing human rights abuses in its supply chain. We require all suppliers to comply with the principles outlined in:

  • The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
  • The International Labour Organisation (ILO) Core Conventions
  • The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights
  • Local labour and employment laws

We will actively assess and manage risks related to forced labour, child labour, discrimination, working conditions, freedom of association, and other human rights concerns.

3. Supplier Expectations

All suppliers must:

  • Sign and adhere to KAI Interiors Supplier Code of Conduct
  • Provide transparency in their own supply chains
  • Cooperate with human rights audits and assessments
  • Take corrective actions if non-compliance is identified

4. Screening Process

4.1. Initial Screening

  • Conduct due diligence before onboarding any supplier using a human rights risk assessment tool.
  • Utilise third-party data, country risk indices, and self-assessment questionnaires to identify high-risk suppliers.

4.2. Ongoing Monitoring

  • Require annual re-assessments for medium- and high-risk suppliers.
  • Implement third-party social audits for high-risk suppliers.
  • Use whistleblower mechanisms to capture grievances and allegations.

4.3. Enforcement

  • If violations are found, KAI Interiors will engage the supplier in a corrective action plan.
  • Continued non-compliance may lead to suspension or termination of the supplier relationship.

5. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Procurement Department: Responsible for screening and monitoring suppliers.
  • Sustainability/Compliance Team: Conducts audits, provides training, and tracks corrective actions.
  • Suppliers: Must comply with this policy and support investigations.

6. Training and Capacity Building

All employees involved in procurement and supply chain management will receive training on this policy and human rights due diligence practices.
